doing a bit of archiving today, here's one of mark russell, political comedian, leaving the stage after a performance. i was told it was his last, but that fact was never confirmed, so who knows.

while archiving, i got news that there were kids playing with a parachute outside the office. everybody loved parachute day growing up, and i loved it today almost equally. couple that little repast with the fact that today is free pizza & cake day in the newsroom and i'm starting to feel 12 again.

i was super happy about the hustle my staff put into our valentine's special section, unfortunately it printed super dark and almost entirely in black and white.

right now i'm starting to shoot a super involved and semi-autobiographical project i'm calling Growing up Kentucky about (surprise!) growing up in Kentucky for the advanced photojournalism class. I went to a cheerleading competition today, and shot mostly film but here's a little peek of some of the awesomely over-the-top costumery that was going on at this thing:

I was so drawn to these little girls with their curls. I took some fun portraits that I will hopefully develop within the week.
